Calculate the Material for a Step Bezel
In this video I am explaining the calculations you need in order to figure out the right length of material to cut for the inner and outer bezel for a step bezel setting for an oval faceted stone.
Materials Needed: Calipers Note paper Oval faceted stone Pencil Sheet Metal (for the bezel material)
Step-by-Step Flush Setting a Round Faceted Stone
In this video I show you step-by-step how to flush set a round, faceted gemstone.
Supplies You’ll Need: 1.2 mm drill 2.2 mm ball bur 3.0 mm ball bur 3.0 mm hart bur 3.0 mm round cubic zirconia or other stone 4.0 to 5.0 mm thick metal
I recommend practicing with brass because it has properties similar to setting in gold. Or, like me, you can use sterling silver to practice your setting. Another recommendation, if you don’t have metal thick enough to do this tutorial, sweat solder a few pieces together to get the appropriate thickness. In this video, I used sweat soldered metal instead of pouring a thicker ingot for the demonstration.
